University Hospital Augsburg is one of the main medical facilities of Augsburg that provides high-level medical care for the entire spectrum of diseases for patients and has one of the largest hygiene departments in all German hospitals. The hospital has an advanced emergency department where the medical team treats patients around the clock in specialized emergency rooms. Departments such as Allergology and Dermatology, Gynecology, Ear Nose, and Throat Medicine work together with the Department of Pediatrics to provide interdisciplinary care for patients of all age groups.
The hospital consists of over 40 facilities that offer care on both inpatient and outpatient basis as it has a bed capacity of 1541 beds and about 20 outpatient clinics where the medical staff treats 63,500 inpatients and 175,250 outpatients every year.
