Department of Rheumatology

Department of Rheumatology at University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus Dresden provides care for patients with rheumatological diseases of various organs. The main focus of the department is systemic autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus, systemic scleroderma, and Sjogren's syndrome and the research unit of the department is involved in research projects for the German Rheumatism Research Center.
The department is headed by Prof. Dr. Med. Martin Aringer and works in close cooperation with the department of ophthalmology, dermatology, orthopedics, otolaryngology, nuclear medicine, radiology, neurology, and university's center for Autoimmune and Rheumatic Diseases to offer individual treatment for each patient. The department is also equipped with the cutting-edge diagnostics and therapeutics for autoimmune and inflammatory joint diseases.
