Department of Pediatric Neurology at University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus Dresden provides care for infants, children and adolescents with congenital and acquired neurological diseases. The department offers cutting-edge diagnostics and therapeutics for acute and chronic diseases of the nervous systems and focuses on the treatment of inflammatory and metabolic diseases with neurological and neuromuscular affection.
The department consists of a general ward of 19 beds with 2 specialized beds for the disabled and is headed by Prof. Dr. Med. Maja von der Hagen. The department is close cooperation with departments of Pulmonology, Cardiology, Hematology and Oncology, Gastroenterology, Neurosurgery, ENT and Ophthalmology and it is also a part of the Social Pediatric Center where psychological therapy is provided as neurological diseases can have a serious effect on the mental and psychological state of children.
The Department of Pediatric Neurology at University Hospital Dresden is specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of:
