Department of Angiology at University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus Dresden provides care for patients with acute and chronic diseases of the blood and lymphatic vessels. The main focuses of the department are occlusive diseases of the vessels of the legs and aortic aneurysms which results in arterial dilatations and organ edema. Other common diseases treated by the department are atherosclerosis, deep vein thrombosis, and chronic venous insufficiency.
The department is fully equipped with the most advanced equipment for accurate diagnosis and effective treatment of vascular diseases and offers monitoring and consultations for people with risk factors for acute and chronic vascular pathologies. The department is headed by Prof. Dr. Med. Norbert Weiss and has been certified by DIN EN ISO 9001: 2015 as well as the German Society for Angiology, the German X-ray society and the German Society for Vascular Surgery.
