Department of General Pediatrics at University Hospital Bonn provides care for children and adolescents from birth to adulthood. The department is formed of 4 main units. Each one is provided with state-of-the-art equipment along with specialized and experienced medical staff members. The department is composed of station 1,2,3 & 4 for heart defects and non-infectious diseases, infectious diseases, endocrine disorders, and intensive care, respectively.
This department offers vaccines for children from day one till the age of 16 years as well as booster doses. Nearly 2,000 inpatients are treated in this department every year under the guidance of Prof. Dr. med. Rainer Ganschow. The department is in collaboration with the Department of General, Abdominal Thoracic and Vascular Surgery and Transplants Center.
