The University hospital Bonn was recently recognized as a separate public law institution. The hospital offers both medical care and public health services. UKB consists of 32 clinics and 26 departments where more than 350,000 outpatients and 50,000 inpatients are treated annually. The Medical Facility of the University of Bonn is in cooperation with the hospitals in the areas of researches and teaching courses. This cooperation helps to improve the patient care and public health services the hospital offers. Researches conducted are mainly directed towards infection and immunity researches and as well as neurological and cardiovascular diseases. Genetics and epidemiology are also given great attention by this unit of the hospital.
The UKB consists of 1,250 beds where the experienced and qualified staff of over 8,000 employers provide care services that meet the care quality standards of international hospitals as it is a member of the IQM and has also won Health Media Award.
