Department of Pediatric Neurology

Department of Pediatric Neurology at University Hospital Tübingen provides care for infants, children, and adolescents with diseases of the central and peripheral nervous systems. The department is in close cooperation with other Pediatric Centers for the management of acute and chronic neurological disorders and has its main focus directed towards the diagnostic and treatment of epilepsy, hydrocephalus, brain tumors, inflammation of the brain and peripheral nerves. The department offers its service on both an inpatient and outpatient basis where consultations are given and the treatment is carried out. The department also has a special EEG Laboratory where more than 1,000 procedures are carried out annually.
Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Med. Kragelon-Mann, the department treats over 1,620 inpatients every year. The department is also known for its success in the treatment of neuromuscular diseases, autistic disorders, speech and motility impairments as well as mentally underdeveloped patients.
