Department of Orthopedics at University Hospital Tübingen provides care for patients with diseases, deformities, and injuries of the musculoskeletal system. The department offers its outpatient and inpatient service for the full range of orthopedic diseases such as joint arthroplasty, therapy for musculoskeletal tumors, and spinal defects. It is also specialized in sports medicine where injuries are treated with the utmost care. In case endoprosthetic are indicated, the doctors are experienced in giving consultations and information about the risks and outcomes of the procedures.
The department has over 40 beds where about 10,000 inpatients are treated every year under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Med. Nikolaus Wülker. The department also has great medical staff members that are qualified and experienced in performing minimally invasive procedures as well as complex surgeries for the treatment of spinal diseases for patients of all ages. The doctors pay special attention to the management and treatment of tumors of the musculoskeletal system.
