Department of Hematology, Oncology, Clinical Immunology, and Rheumatology at University Hospital Tübingen provides care for patients with blood, rheumatological, oncological, and immunological diseases. The department is a pioneering center in the field of autoimmune and rheumatological diseases as it is equipped with the most advanced cutting-edge diagnostics and therapeutics for the management of various diseases. The rheumatological unit is also considered as one of the best units for the treatment of progressive systemic sclerosis.
Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. med. Wolfgang Bethge, the department treats over 3,490 inpatients every year with a satisfaction rate of 97%. The department has a Center for Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy where CAR-T cell therapy is also conducted for patients with lymphomas and leukemias. The Myeloma Center Tübingen is the first center for the treatment of myeloma in Germany and one of the largest in Europe. The research unit of the department conducts studies for the development of diagnostic and therapeutic techniques for diseases of respective fields.
