Department of Pediatric Cardiology
Department of Pediatric Cardiology at German Heart Center Berlin offers care for children and adolescents with congenital and acquired diseases of the cardiovascular system. The department is fully equipped with the most advanced diagnostics and therapeutics for the treatment of congenital heart defects for infants, children, and adolescents below 18 years. The department has a remarkable medical team of doctors that ensure patients are getting optimal care with the management plant which is tailor-made for the condition. Due to this, the department is one of the pioneering centers of its field in Europe. The department is composed of a specialized Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, an Intensive Care Unit, an Outpatient Clinic for Congenital Heart Defects and a certified supra-regional Center of Excellence for Adults with Congenital Heart Defects.
Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. med. Felix Berger, the department treats over 1,100 inpatients and performs about 600 catheter examinations ever year. The department is in close cooperation with the University Hospital Charité and its Orthopedics, Neurology and Oncology Departments.
The Department of Pediatric Cardiology at German Heart Center Berlin is specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of:
