The University Hospital Jena consists of comfortable single and double patient rooms. The hospital rooms are designed keeping in mind the patient's comfort and German medical protocols. Nearly all the patient's rooms have their own bath and toilet, washing facilities, or a shower.
The staff of the hospital strives to make the patient's time at the UKJ as pleasant as possible. As a rule, the day starts with waking between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. The patient is then given time for his morning toilet and breakfast. The ward doctor then comes to the hospital bed for a visit to get an idea of the patient's recovery and to inform about the further course of treatment.

Inpatient Food Menu

Every morning between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m., one of the meal assistants visits the patient to inquire about his meal plans for the following day.
80 different types of food, including special dishes for children, are prepared in the kitchen with religious norms taken into account. If there are no dietary restrictions then the patient is given an opportunity to choose between three menus every day.
There are also two cafeterias available to the patient and the visitors at the Lobeda location.
