About University Hospital Saarland
The University Hospital of Saarland was founded in 1947 and now it’s the largest hospital and most important medical facility in Homburg. The hospital treats its patients in 30 specialized departments and 20 institutes.
The UKS has a leading role in medical education, research and health care that goes beyond the borders of Saarland. The hospital provides patients with scientifically based and innovative diagnostics and therapeutics. Ethical and social competence are of the hospital’s main concerns. UKS has over 1,200 beds with more than 50,000 inpatients and nearly 85,000 outpatients being treated there every year. More than 7,000 outpatient surgeries and procedures are performed in this hospital annually.
