Department of Urology

Department of Urology at University Hospital Muenster provides medical care for patients with diseases affecting the kidney, urinary tract and male genital system in all ages. Inflammatory, autoimmune, infectious, malformations, functional disorders, as well as neoplasms, are all treated in the department with the utmost care by the qualified medical staff. The department is in possession of the latest diagnostics and therapeutics for every field in urology allowing the department to treat nearly 2,700 inpatients every year, with Prof. Dr. med. Andres Jan Schrader as the head of the department who is known to be one of the best urologists in Germany, according to FOCUS Magazine.
The department has a Prostate Center which is a part of the Comprehensive Cancer Center and is established as one of the best medical facilities for prostate cancer in Germany by FOCUS Magazine. Many specialists work together to develop a tailor-made management plan for each individual patient. The department takes pride in its center for robotic surgery where the da Vinci operating system is used for its benefits of reducing blood loss, pain and recovery time. The department is certified to be an ERUS Robotic Training Center.
