Department of General Orthopedics and Tumor Orthopedics at University Hospital Muenster offers diagnosis, conservative and surgical treatment of patients with musculoskeletal diseases. The department is one of the largest medical facilities of its specialty in Germany and one of the leading centers of bone and soft tissue tumors therapy in Europe. The department is in close cooperation with the Comprehensive Cancer Center Muester as it has the state-of-the-art equipment and the experienced specialized medical staff that attract patients from overbroad. 
Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Med. Georg Gosheger, the department treats more than 3,200 inpatients every year. The department is known for its success in the treatment of joint diseases. Operations of all types and grades are performed in this department, from minimally invasive to joint replacement procedures. The department is certified by the German Society of Orthopedics and Orthopedic Surgery as well as Working Group on Joint Replacement Surgery as the Maximum Care Center for Joint Replacement Surgery.
