Department of Dermatology and Allergology at University Hospital of Giessen and Marburg provides care for patients with diseases of the skin as well as sexually transmitted diseases. Special attention is directed to the treatment of skin tumors and infections, allergic reactions, venous, and chronic inflammatory skin diseases. The department works in close cooperation with the Department of Internal Medicine, Radiology, and General Surgery to ensure the patients get optimal care.
Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Med. Thilo Jakob, the medical staff treats about 1,300 inpatients in the general wards composed of 30 beds every year. Many malignant skin tumors patients seek the care of the department as it follows the latest national guidelines and has gained the certification of the German Cancer Society.
