Department of Urology and Pediatric Urology at University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein provides the full range of care for patients of the urinary system and male genital system diseases. The main focus is directed towards the treatment of cancer, both conservative and surgical as it’s a certified an Oncology Center and a Prostate Cancer Center by the German Societies of Cancer and Prostate Cancer. The clinic is an ultra-modern facility with the latest equipment, including The DaVinci system and endourology, an effective method to treat kidney and bladder stones as well as kidney congestion.
The medical staff treats about 2,000 inpatients are treated in the department every year, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. med. Klaus-Peter Jünemann, the first chairman of the German Continence Society. The Andrology station has been recognized as a Center of Excellence for its efforts and success in the treatment of erectile dysfunction by penile implants. The Pediatric Urology unit is mainly concerned with the common urologic diseases of childhood, like congenital malformations and function problems.
