Department of Hematology, Oncology, Immunology and Stem cell transplantation

Department of Hematology, Oncology, Immunology, and Stem Cell Transplantation at University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein provides care for patients with tumors as well as diseases of the blood and coagulation, including stem cell transplantation and immunotherapy. The CAR-T cell therapy Center, in cooperation with the Department of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, offers autologous, allogeneic stem cell transplantation, and cellular immunotherapy for about 1,800 patients of all age groups. The hematological diagnostics unit is a significant part of the department that offers a comprehensive range of innovative methods for the diagnosis of the full range of lymphoma and leukemia.
Many experienced specialists work together in the interdisciplinary tumor outpatient clinic of the Karl Lennert Cancer Center (KLC) to develop a tailor-made management plan for cancer patients. Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. med. Claudia Baldus, the medical team treats over 1,600 inpatients every year, about 250 of which get treated for lymphoma within the Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCC) in Schleswig-Holstein.
