General, Abdominal, Vascular and Pediatric Surgery

Department of General, Abdominal, Vascular and Pediatric Surgery at the University Hospital Saarland provides treatment to the patient suffering from general, vascular and abdominal diseases requiring surgeries.
Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. med. Matthias Glanemann, more than 2,000 inpatients and over 5,000 outpatients cases are managed annually. The department has 64 beds, 12 senior physicians, 6 specialists and 13 medical assistants for adults general, abdominal and vascular surgeries. 14 different beds, 2 medical assistants and 1 senior physician are specifically assigned for pediatric medicine.
