Department of Urology and Pediatric Urology at the University Hospital Saarland offers care in the form of diagnosis and treatment for patients with conditions related to the kidneys, the adrenal glands, ureter, bladder, urethra, prostate and the male reproductive organs.
Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. med. Michael Stöckle, the department treats more than 2,700 inpatients every year. Highly experienced doctors and staff with state-of-the-art medical equipment ensure optimal care for patients. A special feature of the department is the innovative robotic system, Da Vinci. This robotic system has made the procedures less complicated and less painful along with decreased blood loss and decreased time in the hospital. Since 2006, more than 3,700 successful removals of the prostate has been performed at the department.
