Department of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology

Department of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology at the University Hospital Saarland offers care in the form of diagnosis and treatment for patients within the age of 10-18 years. The department provides service in a family-friendly atmosphere for all tumors and blood disorders affecting children and adolescents.
Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Med. Norbert Graf, the department treats about 750 inpatients every year, more than which are patients with leukemia. Highly experienced doctors and staff with state-of-the-art medical equipment ensure optimal care for patients and provides psychological support. The department offers medical care that complies with the guidelines of the German Society for Pediatric Oncology and Hematology. This department has an impressive results report of nearly 80% recovery of malignant tumors for children. 
The department has a specialized center for hemophilia that provides care beyond the borders of Homburg. To offer the best treatment plan possible for the hemophilic patient, the department cooperates with other departments in the hospital to establish the optimal management plan. The Hemophilia Center shows great focus for the blood disorder, Von Willebrand-Jürgens Syndrome, and the results prove that they provide effective treatment.
