Department of Neurosurgery at the University Hospital Saarland offers care in the form of diagnosis and treatment for patients with central and peripheral nervous system disorders. Highly experienced surgeons and staff with state-of-the-art medical equipment ensure optimal care for patients with neurological disorders requiring surgical intervention
Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. med. Joachim Oertel, the department treats more than 50,000 inpatients and about 23,750 outpatients a year. The department has about 1,200 beds and performs 7,169 operations annually.
