Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Med. Frank Lammer, the department treats nearly 3,000 inpatients annually. The department is certified by the German Diabetes Society and has the qualification to provide the best care for type 1 and type 2 diabetes. The department also has an Endoscopy Unit for the endoscopic procedures needed for diagnosis and therapy of gastrointestinal, liver, biliary tract and pancreatic disorders.
