Department of Urology at University Hospital Jena provides care for patients with diseases of the urinary and male genital systems. The department is known as one of the best prostate cancer centers in Germany, according to FOCUS Magazine. The department has special attention directed towards tumors of the kidney, urinary bladder, and prostate as it is a certified Prostate Cancer Center by the German Cancer Society for its efforts and success in the treatment of prostate cancer.
Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Med. Marc-Oliver Grimm, the department treats more than 2,300 inpatients every year, nearly 300 of which complaint of prostatic enlargement. The department is also fully equipped with the most advanced technological equipment such as the da Vinci surgical system and Greenlight XPS laser.
