Department of Nuclear Medicine at University Hospital Jena utilizes nuclear approaches for the diagnosis and treatment of tumors as well as neurological and cardiac disorders. The department follows the standards of national and international guidelines and has been equipped with the latest radioisotopes-fueled diagnostics and therapeutics such as PET-CT, gamma cameras, and selective internal radiation therapy to formulate correct and early diagnosis of patient's disease.
The department mainly focuses on the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma, neuroendocrine tumors, thyroid cancer, metastatic masses in the breast, and colon and treats about 750 inpatients every year under the guidance of Prof. Dr. med Martin Freesmeyer.
The Department of Nuclear Medicine at University Hospital Jena is specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of:
