Department of Neurology

Department of Neurology at University Hospital Jena provides care for patients with diseases of the central and peripheral nervous systems. The department is one of the best Parkison’s disease treatment centers in Germany according to FOCUS Magazine. The medical team consists of 150 employees, of which there are specialists for the treatment of epilepsy, stroke, memory disorders, and multiple sclerosis. 
Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Med. Otto Witte, the department treats more than 5,000 patients every year. The department has a certified Stroke Unit that manages over 500 patients yearly and is equipped with cutting-edge diagnostics and therapeutics to ensure the patient gets the optimal care for their condition.
