Department of Gynecology at University Hospital Jena provides care for women before, during, and after their reproductive period. The department is ranked by FOCUS Magazine as one of the best facilities for breast cancer treatment in Germany and it is also fully equipped with the latest diagnostics and therapeutics for the management of uterine cancer, endometriosis, Myomas, and dysplasia of the female reproductive organs. The department performs over 250 intervention every year for the treatment of those diseases. It also detects hormonal imbalances and infertility disorders for women of all ages and treats them both conservatively and surgically.
Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Med. Ingo Bernard Runnebaum, the department runs a gynecological and breast cancer center where all kinds of advanced diagnostic approaches for early detection of diseases are used.
