Department of Oncology at Helios Hospital Berlin-Zehlendorf is concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of solid tumors as well as malignancies of the blood. The department works in close cooperation with the Department of Nuclear Medicine, the Department of Visceral Surgery, and the Institute for Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology for modern imaging advantages and the full range of therapeutic procedures. The medical team takes care of both inpatients and outpatients, in shared stations with the Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Diabetology as well as the Department of Cardiology, depending on the site of the tumor. The Center for Oncology of the Elderly has been established as older people with cancer require special care.

Dr. med. Markus Schuler, M.Sc., born in 1971 in Hechingen, has been a senior physician at the Medical Clinic and Polyclinic I at the Carl Gustav Carus University Hospital at the Technical University of Dresden since February 2010. In addition to his position as head of the outpatient / oncological day clinic, he focuses on the areas of specialized outpatient palliative care (SAPV) and endoscopy. In addition, he heads the sarcoma, quality-of-life and outcome research working group and, as a senior physician at the University Cancer Center (UCC), conducts special consultations.
In addition, Markus Schuler has been in Berlin since November 2014 as Head of Hematology / Oncology at the Helios Clinic Emil von Behring - Clinic for Internal Medicine II.
