Department of General and Visceral Surgery at Helios Hospital Berlin-Zehlendorf provides the surgical care needed for patients with acute and chronic diseases of the digestive tract and organs. The department mainly focuses on the treatment of colon and rectal diseases, cancer of the digestive organs, endocrine glands diseases, heartburn, appendicitis, and gallstones. The great team of visceral surgeons works with the hospital doctors and cancer specialists for the sake of providing both inpatients and outpatients with the best care. The facility works in close cooperation with the Department of Oncology, Radiology, Radiotherapy and Nuclear Medicine. Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Med. Marc H. Jansen, the chief of the Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery Berlin Southwest, the department is a certified Competence Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery due to the increasing number of minimally invasive procedures every year.
