Department of Pediatric Neurology, Psychosomatics, and Pain Therapy at University Hospital Stuttgart, located at the Olga Hospital, follows the latest guidelines for the entire spectrum of care for infants, children, and adolescents with acute and chronic neurological diseases as well as pain, sleep disorders, and psychosomatic disorders. Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Markus Blankenburg, the department is in cooperation with the Children's Pain Center Baden-Württemberg helping 1,500 outpatients and 260 inpatients to be treated for chronic pain every year.
The medical team of the pediatric neurology unit treats the full range of brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, and muscle diseases as its works together with specialists of Pediatric Neurosurgery, Neuro-oncology, Intensive Care Medicine, stroke unit of the Neurology Clinic, Ophthalmology, ENT Medicine, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Radiology and Neuroradiology in the Children's Head Center in Stuttgart to ensure the optimal care for each patient.
