Department of Vascular Surgery at University Hospital Regensburg provides surgical care for patients with congenital and acquired diseases of the major and peripheral blood vessels. The facility has an exceptional medical team of vascular specialists and surgeons who use cutting-edge equipment for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes to ensure optimal care for patients. Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Med. Karin Pfister, the department performs over 800 surgical procedures in the operating theaters every year and offers intraoperative and postoperative care as it has a bed capacity of 34 well-equipped beds. The staff also consultations and provides follow-up of patients with aortic diseases in the outpatient clinics. The research unit is developing new imaging methods in ultrasound diagnostics and functional vascular assessment.
