The University Hospital Rechts der Isar’s Department of Surgery works together with many specialized physicians (gastroenterology, oncology, nuclear medicine, anesthesia, etc.) who treat interdisciplinary aspects of patient’s disease. The department offers a full range of services in the field of general and specialized surgeries. The medical team comprising of 10 senior doctors, 30 specialists, assisting doctors, and energetic nursing staff, gives excellent treatment to the patients requiring surgical help. The department, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. med. Helmut Friess is certified by the German Cancer Society as Colon and Pancreatic Cancer Center. Also, the German Society of General and Abdominal Surgery has awarded the department as the Center of Excellence in the surgical treatment of esophageal and gastric diseases. Every one of these accomplishments demonstrates that the clinic gives patients quality treatment at the most astounding specialized and proficient level.
