Department of Otorhinolaryngology (Ear, Nose and Throat clinic)

The Department of Otorhinolaryngology has experienced doctors, logopedics and medical-technical assistants as well as nursing staff who treat a wide range of disorders of the ear, nose, and throat. The focuses of the department are in areas like hearing impairment, cochlear implants, salivary gland, and thyroid surgery, diseases of the oral cavity, pharynx and larynx. As a university institution, they work closely with the other clinics and institutes at Rechts der Isar Hospital. The extensive expertise of all concerned at the university level on the one hand and the consideration of the very personal situation of the patients, on the other hand, form the basis for the best possible treatment results.

The ENT clinic consists of three stations with 50 beds, four operating theatres, a five-bed sleep laboratory, and a university outpatient clinic, to which an outpatient department for speech therapy and pediatric hearing impairment (pediatric audiology) is attached. They treat more than 3,000 inpatients and around 28,000 outpatient cases each year.

The wards of the department are equipped with modern and well-equipped single, double, triple and quadruple rooms. Each room has a separate toilet with a shower. Each bed has an infotainment screen.
