Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at University Hospital Freiburg provides diagnostic and treatment for female reproductive organ diseases and the care for pregnant women, before, during and after delivery as well as newborns. Hormonal disorders and diseases of the female reproductive system are treated both on an inpatient and outpatient basis with new innovative methods. One of the main priorities of the department is the treatment of infertility as well as breast cancer for this it is in cooperation with the Breast Center and Gynecological Cancer Center to ensure the patient gets the best treatment possible.
The department delivers nearly 1,500 babies every year under the guidance of Prof. Dr. med. Ingolf Juhasz-Böss. Newborns with congenital anomalies as well as premature babies are cared for and provided with the cutting-edge therapeutics and the medical staff of obstetricians, pediatricians, and specialized nurses work around the clock for observation and early detection of complications and to track the treatment progress.
