Department of Pulmonology at University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus Dresden provides care for patients with diseases of the lower respiratory tract and lung. The department is fully equipped with cutting-edge diagnostics and therapeutics for the management of the full range of pulmonological diseases, extending from a simple cough to complicated life-threatening conditions and it also works in close cooperation with other departments of the hospital to provide patients with a high-quality individual treatment approach. Lung cancer, pulmonary hypertension, vascular diseases of the lungs, as well as sleep disorders due to respiratory distress, are the main concerns of the department.
The department is a part of the Comprehensive Cancer Center Dresden and is headed by Prof. Dr. Med. Dirk Koschelworks, who works together with many other specialists like endocrinologists, physiotherapists, nutritional medicine doctors and surgeons for the treatment of various pulmonological diseases including cystic fibrosis.
