Department of Plastic, Aesthetic, Hand & Reconstructive Surgery

The department of Plastic, Aesthetic, Hand & Reconstructive Surgery at Hannover Medical School offers treatment and care for all patients in need of all kinds of plastic surgeries (burns surgical treatment included). Equipped with the most modern reconstructive methods, they treat complications following trauma or surgery. Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. med. Peter M. Vogt, the department has a great reputation among the internationally ranked reconstruction centers for breast reconstruction using the patient's own tissues.

The department provides care for more than 1,300 inpatients annually. They treat about 80 patients with bone fracture around the wrist or hand, 60 cases of separations of fingers or hand from an accident and 50 burn cases around the head or neck.
