Department of Neurology

The department of Neurology at Hannover Medical school consists of the latest equipment, specialized doctors and about 81 beds. This enables it to offer outpatient and inpatient treatment for the entire spectrum of acute and chronic neurological diseases.
This department provides a special amount of focus and excellence to the most common disorders affecting the majority of the neurologically-ill population.
Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. med. G. Höglinger the department treats more than 780 stroke cases annually.
Also, in the interest of giving patients optimal care, Prof. Dr. med. S. Petri has his main focus on ALS and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Prof. Dr. med. M. Stangel on multiple sclerosis and neuroimmunological diseases, and Prof. Dr. med. D. Dressler’s specialty in Parkinson’s disease. It is one of the reasons that about 700 patients seek MHH for the treatment of Parkinson's disease. 

The department of neurology at Hannover Medical school is specialized in:
