Department of Hematology, Hemostaseology, Oncology and Stem Cell Transplantation

Department of Hematology, Hemostaseology, Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplantation at Hannover Medical school offers care for patients with solid and systemic tumor diseases. It also treats people with coagulation and bleeding disorders and tumors affecting the hematopoietic system which are spleen, bone marrow, thymus and lymph nodes. The distribution of these diseases and their treatments are increasing and progressing and so is the treatment approach of the department. With Prof. Dr. med. Arnold Ganser as the director and a large team of doctors, psychologists, scientists and nursing staff, the department treats over 1,600 patients annually. More than 230 patients with bone marrow cancer and 1,300 patients in need of blood transfusion seeks this department's care.
