Department of Trauma Surgery, Orthopedics and Plastic Surgery at University Medical Center Göttingen is one of the largest university facilities in Germany as it offers excellent medical care for patients for the full range and degrees of diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system. Under the leadership of Director Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Lehmann, the facility is a certified national trauma center that treats over 4,000 inpatient and 30,000 outpatients every year.
Injuries make up most of the conditions treated by the medical team that at least 900 patients get admitted for being seriously injured in accidents. As an Endoprosthetics Center of Maximum Care, the department has achieved impressive results in joint surgeries like hip, knee, elbow, and shoulder surgeries.
