Department of Urology

Department of Urology at University Hospital Würzburg is a maximum care facility for inflammatory, neoplastic, autoimmune, infectious, and degenerative diseases of the kidneys, bladder, prostate, and testicles. The department, established as an independent specialized facility in 1971, is the first department of its specialty in Germany. The facility is well-known for its success and being up-to-date with the latest minimally invasive techniques and equipment, such as the da Vinci robot Xi which is the latest generation in operational filigree apparatuses.
With Prof. Dr. Med. Hubert Kübler, the medical team performs over 5,500 surgical procedures in the three modern operating theaters every year.
As a part of the Comprehensive Cancer Center Mainfranken, a certified Prostate Cancer Center by the German Cancer Society, and with the help of specialists from the Departments of Nuclear Medicine, General Surgery as well as Gynecology and Obstetrics, the department has achieved impressive results in the treatment of tumors of the genitourinary tract.
