Department of Nuclear Medicine at University Hospital Würzburg offers the latest radioactive equipment for the management of various diseases, specifically thyroid disorders and tumors. The department is a pioneer in the field as it has been using radioactive materials since 1977 for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. med. Andreas Buck, the medical team treats over 6,00 inpatients and 1,540 day-patients every year. As a part of the Radiochemistry Center, the facility offers state-of-the-art diagnostics such as scintigraphy, PET-CT, and SPECT-CT, as well as the latest therapeutic measures such as Lutetium PSMA for prostate cancer and Lutetium DOTATOC for neuroendocrine tumors.
