Department of Cardiology

Department of Cardiology at University Hospital Würzburg provides care for inpatients and outpatients with congenital and acquired diseases of the cardiovascular system. The offered care includes both conservative and surgical therapeutics as it works closely with the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery.
Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Med. Stefan Frantz, the facility is a member of the German Center for Heart Failure and a certified Chest Pain Unit that has achieved impressive results in both fields. The cardiology unit has two general wards that have six units where the medical team treats 6,000 inpatients every year. The research unit has projects focusing on molecular mechanisms, imaging, and treatment of heart failure, making one of the best researches at 11 sites in Germany.
The Department of Cardiology at University Hospital Würzburg is specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of:
