Department of Endocrinology, Diabetology, and Geriatrics at University Hospital Stuttgart, located at the Bad Cannstatt Hospital, is primarily concerned with patients of hormonal disorders, diabetes mellitus, and the elderly who are more prone to various diseases. The department is well known for its efforts and success in the diabetology field as it’s certified by the German Diabetes Society and also directs special focus towards the treatment of diabetic foot syndrome. The medical staff treats over 1,500 inpatients annually under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Ralf Lobmann who has been recognized by FOCUS Magazine as one of the top doctors in the field of diabetology. Prof. Lobmann is also the first spokesman and chairman of the Diabetic Foot Society of the German Diabetes Society, a board member of the German Diabetes Association (DDG), and used to be the president of the European Society (DFSG).
The Endocrinology unit offers the full range of diagnostics and therapeutics as it works in close association with the Clinic for Radiation Therapy, Radiation Oncology, the Institute of Radiology, and the Clinic for Nuclear Medicine of Catherine Hospital. The Geriatric Center Stuttgart provides the elderly with medical care for the full range of diseases by an interdisciplinary team of doctors and nurses who work under the guidance of a geriatrician.
