Department of Urology at University Hospital Mannheim provides conservative and surgical care for patients with diseases of the urinary and male genital systems. The department is at two locations which are Mannheim and Bensheim where patients are treated with the utmost care. The main focus of the department is complex uro-oncological interventions. The medical team of the department consists of 150 experienced employees and also it is certified by the German Cancer Society and Prostate Cancer Center Manheim. The department is fully equipped with the most advanced diagnostics and therapeutics for the various diseases of the kidney, urinary bladder, prostate, and testicles.
Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Med. Maurice Stephan Michel, the department treats about 5,000 patients every year, many of which have kidney stones. Dr. Stephan Michel is one of the top physicians of the field in Germany, according to FOCUS Magazine. The department has a great research unit that conducts many projects on diseases of the prostate and bladder, especially bladder cancer.
