Department of Pediatric Surgery

Department of Pediatric Surgery at University Hospital Mainz provides surgical care for infants, children, and adolescents with congenital and acquired diseases. The department is a pioneering center in the area of minimally invasive procedures in Germany and is certified by Sterntaler as a facility for pediatric surgery. The department works in close cooperation with various pediatric surgery facilities in Mainz to provide the patients with the best treatment possible for their cases. Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Med. Oliver Muesterer, the department treats over 1,700 inpatients every year, many of which are bone injuries. The department is also equipped with the latest surgical interventional equipment to grant patients optimal care with acute and chronic diseases.
