Department of Pediatric Nephrology and Urology at University Hospital Mainz provides care to infants, children, and adolescents with diseases of the kidneys, urinary bladder, and urinary tract. The department is known for its quality care as it follows national and international standards and works in close cooperation with the Department of Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric Radiology, and Pediatric Oncology to grant patients with the optimal care provided by specialists.
Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Med. Rolf Beetz, the department treats over 500 inpatients every year. The cooperation the department has with the department of Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and the Department of Nephrology is one of the reasons the department can offer peritoneal dialysis, plasmapheresis, hemoperfusion, and hemofiltration. The department is also in cooperation with the Department of Urology for developing an efficient management plan for patients with urological diseases.
