Department of Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery at University Hospital Mainz provides conservative and surgical care for patients with diseases as well as injuries of the musculoskeletal system. The department is a certified Rapid Recovery Clinic and a National Center for Trauma and has been bestowed with the recognition of the German Cancer Society for its top-notch medical service.
Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Med. P.M Rommens, the department treats more than 4,100 inpatients every year. It also offers physical therapy for about 2,100 patients annually. The department takes pride in its success in the field of hip and knee arthroplasty and it’s a certified facility by endoCert for artificial joint operations as it is supplied with the state-of-the-art equipment that attracts patients to seek its service.
