Department of Pediatric Surgery

Department of Pediatric Surgery at University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf provides surgical care for infants, children, and adolescents for the full range of diseases requiring surgical intervention. The department of pediatric surgery has a special team of surgeons who has specialists in plastic surgery for congenital anomalies, hand surgery and burn surgical treatment. The department is considered one of the largest medical institutions for pediatric surgery in Germany as more than 4,000 surgeries are performed here annually under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Med. Konrad Reinshagen. 
The Department consists of 148 general care beds, an Intensive Care Unit composed of 6 beds, a Bone Marrow Transplantation Unit consisting of 6 beds and 3 operation rooms supplied with the most advanced technology. With this level of care, more than 10,000 newborns are treated in the Department of Pediatric Surgery every year.
