The department is in close cooperation with "Ambulanzzentrum des UKE GmbH". The department has a special feature that makes it outstands among other similar facilities, which is the multimodal method where processes are carried out simultaneously with computer tomography.
For patients with neuroendocrine tumors and prostate cancer, the radiopharmaceutical diagnostics in the area of PET/CT examinations are available. The cooperation with the department of Radiology allows for accurate and fast diagnosis as well as the best management plan for each patient. Another interest of the department is thyroid diseases. There are 5 beds for the treatment of thyroid disorders with radioiodine therapy.
