Department of Hematology, Oncology, and Pulmonology at University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf provides the medical care for patients with blood and respiratory tract diseases as well as neoplastic diseases. The department has its focus on diseases such as leukemia, lymphoma, germ cell tumors and malignant neoplasms of the gastrointestinal system. The pulmonology unit of the department has a great reputation for the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary hypertension.
Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Med. Carsten Bokemeyer, the department treats more than 3,000 inpatients every year. The department has the cutting-edge equipment for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer as it works in close cooperation with the University Cancer Center Hamburg. The department consists of hematological and oncological wards where the latest therapeutic methods are offered including bone marrow transplantations and chemotherapy.
