Department of Pediatrics and Adolescence Medicine at University Hospital Greifswald is a four-station center of maximum care that provides medical care for infants, children, and adolescents with congenital and acquired diseases. The General Pediatrics unit is concerned with the management of the full spectrum of infectious, allergic, and rheumatological diseases as well as diseases of the lungs, kidneys, and digestive tract and organs through working in close cooperation with the Department of Neonatology and Pediatric Intensive Care Medicine.
The Pediatric Hematology and Oncology unit is a specifically designed facility for the diagnosis and treatment of tumors and blood diseases that has gained the certification of the Society for Pediatric Oncology and Hematology (GPOH) as well as the Federal Joint Committee for its high-level care service. The Neuropediatrics unit provides interdisciplinary care for neurological and muscular diseases as well as metabolic and endourological disorders. FOCUS Magazine has established the Department of Neonatology and Pediatric Intensive Care Medicine that operates under the guidance of Prof. Dr. med. Holger Lode, as one of the best perinatal centers in Germany.
